False Positives are a big concern among Paranormal Investigators and Groups. It is considered an error or accidental object that was captured. For example:: a hair draping the lens of the camera, your breath, a bug , DUST,matrixing, double exposure, etc . When it comes to audio, it could be background noise like:: electricity(buzzing), cell phone conversation or radio station being pick up on a certain frequency, or other investigators.
Fakes are far too prevalent in the Paranormal community and are tolerated far too much. 80% of pictures on the web that are found during an image search are proven fakes, so please if you search for pictures, although they are very intriguing and exciting, they are most likely doctored pictures.
Below are a few examples of False Positives and Fakes.

Ecto? hahaha, NO. Its simply cigarette
smoke.
In the center it looks like a pair of
spooky eyes, but its a moth.
Anomaly giving off its own light source?
How about a light bulb in a cave.
This is just a camera strap that was
caught in the pic, its blurry because its
too close to the lens.
Ofcourse its just snow, but look at the
two "Orbs" near the center, they look
like what you are used to seeing but
they are just snow flakes like the rest.
"Orb" and light anomaly. Its dust and a
bug.
2 light anomalies, but what are they?
The orange streak is a distant street
light caught in camera motion and the
white is a bug.
"ORBS" I caught ORBS, woohoo.
NOT, plain old dust particles.
Just a finger over the lens.
Very interesting picture, ive seen many
bug pics but non of this caliber. It took
a while to analyze this one but its just a
bug not a rope light. A closer look
shows wing segments.
These are some examples
of Photoshopped pictures.
